Music Classes for Toddlers, from Age 1.5

Why Start So Young?

Children absorb music the same way they absorb language — through immersion, repetition, and joyful exposure, long before they can read a note or name a chord. The earlier that exposure begins, the more naturally music becomes instinct rather than a subject to be studied. That's why we offer lessons for children as young as 1.5 years old, during the exact window when the brain absorbs it most effortlessly. Read more about our teaching philosophy.

How We Teach Toddlers

Toddlers start in our Music and Movement program — play-based sessions where they're exposed to a range of instruments while building rhythm and beat. Once a child has a basic sense of rhythm and pulse, usually within a few months, they move on to 1:1 instrumental lessons, typically starting on piano since it's the easiest instrument for small fingers to press and get a sound from right away.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age can my child start music lessons at BodhiTree?

As young as 1.5 years old. Children absorb music the way they absorb language — through immersion and repetition — so we start early, well before most schools will take a child.

Is 3 years old too young to start piano or keyboard lessons?

Not at all — 3 years old is a great age to begin. Our teachers adapt pacing, session length, and teaching style specifically for toddlers and preschoolers, using play, rhythm, and repetition rather than formal notation.

Do toddlers follow a different curriculum from older kids?

Toddlers learn music through play-based activities to build rhythm and beat. In our Music and Movement program, they're exposed to all kinds of instruments. Once a basic sense of rhythm and pulse is set — usually within a few months — they move on to a 1:1 instrumental program.

Which instruments can toddlers start with?

We recommend piano to begin with, as it's fairly easy for their tiny fingers to press the keys and make a sound, unlike guitar, ukulele, or other instruments.

Do you offer toddler music classes near me in Pune or Mumbai?
